Hotel Alp
Perfectly located for skiers and boarders, located between two ski runs in Myoko Kogen, Akakura. Hotel Alp offers accommodation right in the heart of the action. From the hotel door you can ski in/out to the two main resorts in Myoko, Akakura Onsen and Akakura Kanko Ski resorts.
There are 9 Japanese-style rooms, 9 newly renovated Western-style rooms, and 1 Japanese-Western penthouse room. The hotel undertook significant renovations in 2020 to update the western rooms, onsen, restaurant and communal spaces. With new management working alongside the traditional owners, Alp provides the perfect balance between both a traditional and contemporary experience.
The hotel's European appearance is deliberate - built to be reminiscent of ski lodges on the other side of the planet. The exterior of the building incorporates the style of Zermatt, a sister city of Myoko City. After a day skiing, relax and heal your body in the indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths, and for dinner, we offer a Japanese fusion contemporary dining experiences. A wonderful lodging experience where you can really take in the the spectacular scenery of this amazing resort.
The dining hall is only one of the large communal spaces offered to guests - there is a lobby lounge as well as lounges throughout the hotel, meaning all guests get a chance to get to know one another.
The onsens at Hotel recently fully refurbished allow one to bathe, relax and indulge after a day on the slopes. Featuring Japanese Hinoki timber and Oiya-ishi stone, surfaces. There are both indoor and outdoor onsens, both featuring incredible views of the landscape through large windows and both naturally mineralized to provide a soothing and possibly healing experience.
The rooms are also privy to these beautiful views - in summer the greenery comes out and in winter you get to watch the snowfall cover the landscape. Either way, you'll be mesmerized by the beauty of Myoko.
Hotel Alp will arrange free pick-up from Myoko Kogen station which can be accessed via Shinkansen to Nagano and then local train. Parking also available and located on the other side of the ski run, nearby the hotel.

There's only one of these spacious Japanese/western suites, and it's popular! If you're interested in a mixed-design room, you better get in early. The room features western style twin single bedding as well as traditional tatami spaces and is significantly larger than the standard rooms. It is, of course, equipped with the basic amenities - some tea/coffee making facilities, a television and a safe - and is also attached to an ensuite bathroom. There is a traditional dining space as well as a small lounge area to relax in, too, and the tatami space can also double as some extra sleeping room should you need it.
