Oyado Furuya is renowned for its incredible Japanese décor and architecture, sparing no expense the make each guest's experience an immersive one. Paying homage to tradition throughout the hotel, Oyado Furuya offers travellers a stunning and luxurious experience of local culture and combines it with modern comfort.

The hotel has plenty of history, and despite the renovations and upgrades that have come with time, this authenticity can be felt and seen everywhere in the hotel. Traditional rice paper dividers are used throughout, as are natural materials like timber and stone. Everywhere you look is warm - natural, muted colours used in the rooms and the communal spaces create an incredibly welcoming and inviting ambiance. To top it off, each guest is given their own yukata robe and slippers to wear during their stay.

There are both Japanese and western style rooms available, each fitted with ensuite bathrooms and the expected amenities. They are very large by Japanese standards, and all of the amenities are modern, while the rooms themselves are immaculately well kept. Some of these rooms also feature large private open-air onsens, making them an ideal choice for those looking for an opulent getaway experience while here. Of course, the hotel's central location also makes it perfect for just about any traveller!

Located in the heart of the town, only a few minute's walk both from the centre and from the slopes, it's perfectly located to act as your base while you explore everything Myoko has to offer. There are also ski drying and storage rooms provided for skiers, and the exceptionally helpful staff are always ready to help you organise day trips or explorations of the area.

The hotel houses two stunning, large indoor onsens also, one of which being a tatami-buro, one of the only ones in the country. In addition, there's also a restaurant that offers a variety of Japanese dishes for breakfast and dinner as well as a café located in the lobby that serve their own blend of coffee in the morning and afternoon. Even if you're not staying here, a visit for the dinner - and perhaps a peel at the incredible design - will definitely be worth it.

Onsen & Spa

In-house Onsen "Tatami no yu"

If you haven’t been lucky enough to score a private onsen in your room, don’t worry, you’re not going to miss out! Oyado Furuya has its own indoor onsens for public use, both of which are incredibly large and luxurious. One onsen is situated in a stone-floored room lined by large windows and the other is a rare tatami-buro, a natural onsen surrounded by tatami flooring. Both rooms place emphasis on natural materials, using large rocks and timber throughout, and are, like the rest of the hotel, decorated in traditional Japanese fashion.
Both onsens are available throughout the day, however alternating times are available for men and women. While one is open for women, the other is open for men, meaning everyone gets to experience the beauty of both. Both onsens are naturally heated and mineralized, and the heated water also heats the floors throughout the room, providing an incredibly relaxing and tranquil space for guests to take advantage of.
