GoSnow Niseko

GoSnow Niseko is the official international Snowsports School of Grand Hirafu Resort in Niseko, Japan. Their friendly team of professional, accredited trainers and instructors teach a wide range of classes from 3 to 99 years of age, from First Timers to Advanced. All GoSnow lessons are conducted in English.

NINJA KIDS: 3-6 YEARS
- Skiing only
- Maximum 8
- Half Day: 9:30am – 12:30pm
- Full Day: 9:30am – 3:30pm includes lunch meal
- Registration starts at 9:00am at Niseko Gondola Snowsports reception.
- Pick-up time: Half day children is 12:15-30pm from Gondola Snowsports / Full day children is 3:15-30pm from Gondola Snowsports.
Please Note:
Lift tickets are not included in the lesson fee, please bring a lift pass for your child. Lift Passes are free for children 6 years and younger, prebook your preschooler pass and pay 1,000 yen as the refundable security deposit.
*Recommended to not book more than 4 days of lessons in a row, children need a break to recover.
YAMA RIDERS: 7-14 YEARS
- Broken up into classes 7-10 years and 11-14 years
- Ski & Snowboard
- Maximum 8
- Half Day: 9:30am – 12:30pm
- Full Day: 9:30am – 3:30pm includes lunch meal
- Registration starts at 9:00am at Niseko Gondola Snowsports reception.
- Pick-up time: Half day children is 12:15-30pm from Gondola Snowsports / Full day children is 3:15-30pm from Gondola Snowsports.
Please Note:
Lift tickets and equipment are not included in the lesson fee, please prepare one for your child. First timer and novice levels only require a Grand Hirafu pass.
Intermediate to advanced levels require All Mountain pass. Please make sure your child has all equipment, warm ski wear, and lift pass ready before the lesson.
ADULT FIRST TIMER PACK
Adult group session for first timers to the snow. Includes all rental gear including outerwear, helmet, goggles, gloves and equipment, lift ticket and a full day of adult group lessons.
- Full Day: 10:00am – 3:30pm
- Includes 1 hour lunch break (food not included)
- Registration starts at 9:45am at Niseko Gondola Snowsports reception.
- Rental gear can be collected from Grand Hirafu rental located at the Grand Hirafu Mountain Center.
*The rental store opens at 8:00am and closes at 8:00pm (9pm for returns) while night riding is operating and until 4pm (5pm for returns) outside of these dates. You should pick up rentals the evening before your first lesson, or no later than 8:30am on the morning of your lesson.

Lift tickets can be collected form the Grand Hirafu Mountain Centre ticket booth. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
ADULT GROUP LESSONS: 15+ YEARS

SKI LEVELS for 7+ YEARS OLD
L1 - First Timer
I have never skied before/ cannot stop yet
- Goals for the Lesson: To stop and change direction
L2 - Beginner
I can make a wedge and I can stop
- Goals for the Lesson: Working on wedge turns
L3 - Novice
I can confidently link wedge turns on green terrain
- Goals for the Lesson: Learn to ski parallel and make varied turn sizes and shapes to control speed
L4 - Intermediate
I can parallel turn on all greens and most red/blue terrain
- Goals for the Lesson: Perfecting parallel turns with a pole plant. Learn to carve and begin to venture off-piste
L5 - Advanced (only available in Workshops)
I can parallel turn on all Black terrain
- Goals for the Lesson: Build confidence skiing the whole mountain and explore techniques for riding powder, trees, slush and variable conditions. Advance in carving and off-piste
NINJA KIDS SKI LEVELS for 3-6 YEARS OLD
Yellow Ninjas
This is my first time skiing / I have tried skiing and need to practice stopping
- Goals: To have fun and develop balance in the snow, to learn about ski equipment and be able to stop on a small slope
Orange Ninjas
I can stop and I am learning to turn
- Goals: To be able to control speed and turn in both directions
Green Ninjas
I can link wedge turns on the magic carpet
- Goals: To link turns on a green run and ride the chairlift safely
Blue Ninjas
I can confidently wedge turn and I am working on parallel turns
- Goals: To ski parallel on green runs and to try more difficult terrain
Black Ninjas
I can ski parallel on all green and some red runs
- Goals: To ski parallel in more challenging terrain and explore the mountain in a variety of snow conditions
SNOWBOARD LEVELS for 7+ YEARS OLD
L1 - First Timer
I have never snowboarded before/ cannot stop yet
- Goals for the Lesson: To stop and control speed using both the edges
L2 - Beginner
I can stop and control my speed on one or both edges. I cannot link turns yet
- Goals for the Lesson: Working on linking turns
L3 - Novice
I can confidently link turns on green terrain
- Goals for the Lesson: Working on varied turn size and shape to control speed
L4 - Intermediate
I can confidently link turns on all Red terrain
- Goals for the Lesson: Progress to easy black terrain. Learn freestyle/ carving or switch and begin to venture off piste
L5 - Advanced (only available in Workshops)
I can confidently link turns on all Black terrain
- Goals for the Lesson:Build confidence riding the whole mountain and explore techniques for riding powder, trees, slush and variable conditions. Advance in freestyle, carving and switch
