Transportation Overview

Most guests will arrive at New Chitose Airport and transfer by road to Niseko, either in a shuttle bus or private chartered transfer. Some pay like to travel by rail to Niseko, with the Niseko and Kutchan train stations offering the most convenient access.

Train stations can be confusing when travelling to Niseko. You have three options: Niseko, Hirafu, Kutchan. Those staying in Niseko Village or An’nupuri should alight at Niseko station, while those staying in Grand hirafu and Izumikyo should get off at Kutchan. From either station, take a bus or taxi to your accommodation.

Train travel is optimal in the following circumstances; travelling to/from Otaru town for sightseeing, scenic train ride when travelling to/from Sapporo or Chitose Airport, travelling to/from Tomamu resort.

Niseko is connected by shuttle bus to and from New Chitose Airport, travel time is under three hours including one comfort stop along the way. A convenient and simple way to travel, the shuttle buses stop at most major hotels in Niseko.

Inter-resort Shuttles to Niseko

Inter-resort Shuttles to Niseko

Hokkaido ski resorts are rather well connected by shuttle buses and/or trains. Niseko is connected to Furano, Tomamu, Sapporo city, and Rusutsu by shuttle bus; Ski Japan Holidays can arrange the first three routes up until two weeks before travel, as long as seats are available. Transfers to Rusutsu must be booked directly with the provider Donan Bus, your hotel reception will be able to assist you, otherwise call +81-136-22-1558 from an international phone, or 0136-22-1558 from a Japanese phone.
