Traumerei
This is a French inspired hotel located close to the Echoland main street. The Hotel is owned and operated by one of Japans top wine and food critics, Mr. Nishino. Traumerei features indoor and outdoor onsen, a warm atmospheric property, and great cocktail and wine bar with grand piano, suite rooms with spacious ensuite bathrooms, and the Traumerei restaurant serving the highest quality traditional French cuisine.
The excellent French cuisine is as good as can be found anywhere, in France, Japan or elsewhere. Traumerei should be familiar to those who enjoy the traditional French "auberge" style of cuisine which is paired with an outstanding selection of wine and fine liquors.The owner and staff could not be more helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are well looked after and pampered to your stomach's delight. You will be delighted and amazed at the array of food and wine and when that gets too much or too heavy, they will just as easily prepare you a healthy traditional Japanese meal or whip out a homemade pizza. Your wishes are but their pleasure to arrange for you.
Great French coffee is available here as well and if that's not enough, then next door there is a lovely French inspired bakery and café called Mon Pigeon, which is favourite for rich cakes galore, lovely pastries and superb lattes, cappuccinos and super creamy hot chocolates. Eating here you are surrounded with big lush sofas and great Christmas ornaments galore.
For those of you that love fine food, why not come, wine, dine and explore the many delicious dishes.
With an in-house onsen hot spring called "Petite Nice," It is great way to relax after a day out in the cold on the slopes by soaking your tired body into the onsen here. They also offer complimentary transfers to and from the Hakuba or Happo bus and train stations along with transfers to various other locations around Hakuba.With consistently great reviews from their guest, this property is well worth a try and we are sure will be very happy here.

Private in-house onsen at Traumerei
The private onsen offered by the hotel is arguably some of the most beautiful, and definitely take a step away from the traditional Japanese design that you’ll have become accustomed to seeing in a bathhouse. Instead, the in-house onsen is situated in beautiful patio-style rooms with skylights and patio furniture, surrounded by traditional and classic elegant architectural details that are reminiscent of France’s buildings. You’ll feel as luxurious as this place looks when you enter the bath, which has water sources naturally from underground, featuring plenty of soothing minerals.The onsen can only be booked by the hotel guests for private use for free of charge, each session taking 50 minutes and the water being cleaned between each use.
