Hotel Japan Shiga
Hotel Japan Shiga is a good mid-level hotel located in Ichinose, a popular ski area within the Shiga Kogen fields. From the hotel access to the ski slope is very close, only being approximately 1 minute walk. and the Ichinose bus stop is only a few meters away also.
All rooms have free WiFi, and the hotel also has English speaking staff to make it easier for their international guests.
The property features several restaurants including a Nepalese restaurant with authentic dishes, a Yakiniku (BBQ) restaurant, and a buffet-style restaurant. There is an outdoor deck area where draft beers and other beverages can be enjoyed overlooking the slopes. The Japan Shiga Hotel offers Western rooms with twin bedding options, as well as Japanese-style rooms with tatami straw traditional futon bedding. All rooms come with a TV, yukata robes and an en suite toilet, while shower & bathing facilities are available in some but not all rooms.
Hotel Japan Shiga is located very close to the local bus which transfers to the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. There are convenience stores and other restaurants nearby in the surrounding area, more so than any other area in the Shiga Kogen National Park, so it’s a pretty good spot to be located from.
