The South Wing of the Prince Hotel Group is a great property located in Shiga Kogen at the base of the Yakebitaiyama resort and is fully ski-in-ski-out. Perhaps a little dated as it feels more like the 1990's, but if offers superb access to the slopes and has direct access from the front doors to the gondola.
With 240 rooms available within the hotel, the south wing building has a casual atmosphere and is where you can board the gondola directly from the hotel. There are a number of facilities to help you enjoy your après-ski time including several restaurants, bar, ski and snowboard rental, beauty salon, ski school (private lessons in English), and professional staff to assist with any tours or other related issues you need arranged. The rooms in the South Wing are small, but within the Japanese average size, but still offering enough comfort and room to enjoy one's holiday. The rooms are better suited to twin share and perhaps better advise the rooms in the East or West Wings for family share arrangements.
Perhaps best suited to the more budget orientated travellers and or larger groups, but all in all, a good comfortable property offering again great slope frontage access so that one can very easily be in and out of the hotel and onto the slopes in a very small amount of time.
