Elizabeth
Elizabeth provides a beautifully cosy and inviting destination for guests, offering a mix of Japanese and western style rooms situated in the heart of town. The rooms are well maintained, clean and relatively modern, some featuring televisions and ensuite bathrooms. Most have Wi-Fi access, but it can be a little unreliable.
There is plenty of communal space available, too, with a large indoor onsen for guest use as well as a beautiful lounge area featuring more television and a cosy fireplace overlooking the surroundings through large windows. The restaurant serves breakfast each day, a simple western-style offering, and the staff are more than happy to help organise dinner reservations in town.
The central location also means you're ideally located to make use of the slopes, and the hotel's offering of a drying and storage room for ski equipment will make that a lot easier. There is a front desk that will also endeavour to help you with your plans and adventures in the area, speaking good English and maintaining a very hospitable attitude. All guests also have access to laundry facilities for those looking for an extended stay.

Communal Bath
The communal bath at Elizabeth is separated into male and female sides, and each is equipped with showers and an indoor bath. A long soak makes the best way to end your day. Please note however that the water is not naturally mineralised onsen waters, so for the full onsen hot spring experience, don your yukatas and grab your towel, and head out onsen-hopping in the Nozawa Onsen village.
