Train Travel to Naeba

The closest station to Naeba resort is Echigo Yuzawa Station, located along the JR Joetsu Bullet Train Line connecting Tokyo with Niigata.

From here, there is a complimentary express shuttle bus run by the Naeba Prince Hotel that will take you straight to the Hotel in 40 minutes. There is a Naeba Prince Hotel bus stop just outside the East exit of the train station.

If you’re not staying at the Naeba Prince Hotel, local buses also run to and from the station, but will just cost a few extra yen, the easiest way to travel to Naeba ski resort. You can also ask the tourist desk to help you call a taxi to your hotel, but beware - the trip will cost approximately 8,000 yen per vehicle.

From Tokyo: A bullet train will take just under an hour and a half to run from Tokyo Station to Echigo Yuzawa Station.
From Osaka or Kyoto: Travel through to Tokyo via bullet train and transfer to the Joetsu Bullet Train Line, for a 1.5 hour ride to Echigo Yuzawa Station.
From Nagoya: Travel through to Tokyo via bullet train and transfer to the Joetsu Bullet Train Line, for a 1.5 hour ride to Echigo Yuzawa Station.
